Short answer: the higher the number in an Iceberg name, the darker the film. The exact figure is the VLT (light that passes through): ICEBERG 20 lets 70% of light through, ICEBERG 90 only 5%. ICEBERG 20 to ICEBERG 60 are the usual choices for the windshield; ICEBERG 60 to ICEBERG 90 for the sides and rear.
What the numbers on window film mean
When you shop for car window film in Indonesia you will hear numbers like 20%, 40%, 60% or 80%. Here the number describes how dark the film looks: the higher the number, the darker the cabin looks from outside and the less light comes in.
Iceberg names its types the same way. ICEBERG 20 is the lightest, then ICEBERG 40, 60 and 80, up to ICEBERG 90, the darkest. Every type uses the same material and technology, 100% nano carbon with Night Vision Technology.
The number in the name is not an exact percentage. To know how dark a film really is, look at its VLT (visible light transmission): the percentage of visible light that passes through. The lower the VLT, the darker the film.

Is darker tint cooler?
Not necessarily. Sunlight is made of ultraviolet (UV), visible light and infrared. Most of the heat you feel on your skin and in the cabin comes from infrared, which you cannot see.
Darkness only cuts visible light. A cheap film can be very dark and still let a lot of infrared through, so the car stays hot. Every Iceberg type rejects 96–99% of infrared and 99% of UV, so even ICEBERG 20 keeps the car cool. Darker types reject a little more total solar energy: TSER 60% for ICEBERG 20 up to 83% for ICEBERG 90.
To compare films, look at TSER and IRR, and compare the film technology.
Tint and night driving
Reflections and the rainbow effect from metal particles in older films make oncoming headlights more dazzling, especially at night and in the rain.
Iceberg Window Films was developed for night driving. Nano carbon contains no metal, so there is no mirror or rainbow effect and the view from inside stays clear.
Frequently asked questions
What does 80% window tint mean in Indonesia?
In Indonesia, the percentage on window film describes how dark it looks: the higher the number, the darker the film. For Iceberg, the exact figure is the VLT (the light that passes through). ICEBERG 80 lets only 7% of visible light through, so the cabin looks very dark from outside.

For the windshield, ICEBERG 20, 40 or 60 are the usual choices; ICEBERG 60 is safe and comfortable on the windshield. For the side and rear windows, ICEBERG 60 to ICEBERG 90 are chosen for privacy. The right choice depends on how much privacy you want and how you drive.
Is darker window tint cooler?
Not necessarily. Most of the heat you feel comes from infrared. Every Iceberg type rejects 96–99% of infrared, so even the lightest, ICEBERG 20, keeps the car cool. Darker types do reject a little more total solar energy (TSER): from 60% for ICEBERG 20 to 83% for ICEBERG 90.
What is the VLT of ICEBERG 90?
ICEBERG 90 is the darkest type, with a VLT of 5%: only 5% of visible light passes through. Its TSER is 83%, the highest of the Iceberg range.
